• 3/4 cup boiling water • 1 1/2 cups Flour • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda Mix molasses with hot water and blend well. Prepare crumb mixture by sifting together flour, sugar, and soda. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Line 9” pie dish with pastry. Pour in third of the molasses mixture and top with third of the crumb mixture. Repeat layering process twice more, altering layers of syrup and crumbs, ending with crumbs on top. Bake in preheated oven (375°F) for about 35 minutes. © Copyright ShakerWoods.com |
